The Chronicles of Treats: Fall Edition.
Many people love the fall. They say things like: I love the crisp weather; I love the changing leaves: I love when I can wear my favorite sweater and feel nice and comfortable; I love that quality that comes to the air and the sky; etc. They say say things like this.
I am a sick man, really. The only thing I love on this earth, all I care about, is treats. I go about my day, doing what must be done, but I live for treats. My heart starts beating, I turn a healthy pink color, I develop a spring in my step, when I think and eat treats. And then I feel sated for a moment, and then I must think of the next treat to consume.
As this fall begins, we have many treats to look forward to. For now, I have been enjoying iced apple cider at Dunkin' Donuts. Every Tuesday and Thursday I must work very late, and as I walk to the subway station I stop into Dunkin' for a delicious apple cider. But I must have more treats. So now I am also indulging in a donut. I've had the pumpkin pie donut and the pumpkin donut. What is the difference, you ask? I will tell you, my friend.
The pumpkin pie donut is a delightful yeast donut filled with an excellent pumpkin cream.
The pumpkin donut is a delightful cake donut with real pumpkin mixed into the cake batter.
I drink these ciders and eat these treats and I blank out. Eventually I come to and I realize life is empty and begin thinking of the next treat.
