Trader Joe's Diaries

Captain's log, star date October 16, 2012.  I go to Trader Joe's and see a package of Fruit Jellies, hand crafted by true artisans, made with real fruit extracts and cooked the old-fashioned way in a kettle.  Ah, there is nothing like a fine jelly.  Once, many years ago when I resided in Springfield, Illinois for a time, I belonged to a gentleman's jelly club.  Perhaps someday I will have time to properly write down the chronicles of that most esteemed club, but suffice it to say for now that we met weekly and discussed and tasted the finest jellies, fruit or otherwise.  Of course, we did prefer kettle cooked jellies, but we gave a fair audience to other preparations.  I fondly remember Pebbles Wilson, the secretary of our club, declaring that the measure of a true gentleman is his taste for a fine jelly.  That being so, we were certainly some of the finest gentlemen in the land.

I LOVE JELLIES.
