I'd be delighted if you could join me...
So, despite the odds, I was able to procure a turkey burger, concluding my week of turkey burger lunches.
It came from Camille's, a little place adjacent to Hamilton Deli (Turkey Burger review #1). Though they are close in proximity (around Amsterdam and 116), I am happy to report that Camille's has a very solid turkey burger that easily trumps the one sold at Hamilton.
The patty was juicy, meaty and not overcooked. There was not a processed taste and consistency, as was quite evident at Hamilton, and the meat was warm, unlike the chilly patty at Deluxe. Also, the bun was soft and warm and almost seemed to 'melt' a little, creating a fascinating amalgamation of patty and bread.
I don't want to go into great philosophical analysis right now, but I must say I am at a stumbling block. I suppose I will give Camille's turkey burger an 8, but in a future post I will discuss just how good a turkey burger can be, and how does a turkey burger rated at an 8 compare with a hamburger rated at an 8? These are important questions we will explore together...
