I don't know about you, but when I finish finals there's only way to properly celebrate: by eating loads of pork. And that's exactly what I did last night with two friends: ate loads of pork.
As a disclaimer, I found all of the following pictures on Flickr. I am getting sick of my crappy phone camera.
First stop was Porchetta, the new but already fabled East Village pork store. Basically, they only sell pork and a few side dishes.
We all got the pork sandwich, which is lots of pork stuffed into a Sullivan Street Bakery roll.
We shared potatoes with 'burnt ends,' burnt ends being crispy pieces of pork. We also shared brussels sprouts, which were basted in pork drippings and bacon grease and basted fried pork skin.
Next stop, Curry-Ya, a Japanese curry house. It's a small little place with wooden chairs surrounding an eating counter/bar-type thing.
We all got berkshire pork curry. The curry comes in a separate pot and you just pour it onto the rice and meat. This was delightful.
Finally, we went to ChikaLicious Dessert Bar. I'll be frank, I didn't really think this place was that special at all.
